Acute hemopthysis since 5 days on a 16 yo boy.

Spontaneous recurrent epistaxis in childhood

Findings

CT :

 

Multiple arterioveinous malformations (AVM) in right and left lung.

The biggest AVM is located on left upper lobe, with enlarged feeding artery and draining vein.

 

Lung angiography :

Pulmonary AVMs with single artery draining into an enlarged vein. Embolization with detachable metal coils.


Diagnosis

Hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia with lung arteriovenous malformation
