Supersonic imagine Vendor's profile
The Theragnostic Company
Founded in 2005 and based in Aix-en-Provence (France), SuperSonic Imagine is an innovative, international company specializing in ultrasound medical imaging. The company designs, develops, and markets a revolutionary ultrasound system, Aixplorer®, with a unique ultrasound imaging technology. Powering healthcare’s most advanced ultrasound system is its UltraFast™ Imaging platform- the fastest and most sophisticated architecture on the market which acquires information 200 times faster than any other ultrasound system. The extreme speed enables the company’s ShearWave™ Elastography scanning, the only real-time ultrasound imaging mode cleared by the FDA to measure and simultaneously display tissue stiffness in kilopascal, as well as UltraFast™ Doppler which speeds examination times and stands alone in its capabilities.
ShearWave Elastography (SWE™) is a non-invasive technique that is being used by thousands of radiologists worldwide to visualize and quantitatively measure (in kilopascals) tissue stiffness across several organs. Determining tissue stiffness is important, as stiffer tissue is more likely to be malignant. SWE also increases the specificity of ultrasound alone, helping physicians in their diagnostic process. In addition this technology can help physicians determine treatments, guide biopsies and monitory therapy.
In 2009, SuperSonic Imagine was granted 510(k) clearance by the Food and Drug Administration in the United States and CE mark in Europe for the marketing of Aixplorer®. Distribution agreements have been signed with prestigious companies such as Hologic (Nasdaq : HOLX) for the breast market in the U.S.A. and Canon (NYSE : CAJ) for Japan. SuperSonic Imagine’s distribution network has now more than 40 partners worldwide.http://www.supersonicimagine.com
