Base - Basis ossis metatarsi

Description

The base (posterior extremit)y is wedge-shaped, articulating proximally with the tarsal bones, and by its sides with the contiguous metatarsal bones: its dorsal and plantar surfaces are rough for the attachment of ligaments.
