Description

Medial longitudinal fasciculus are bundle of various fibers systems that enter and leave at different levels. Its fibers interconnect the motor nuclei of cranial nerves and also connect the vestibular apparatus with ocular muscles, neck muscles, and the extrapyramidal system. This serves to coordinate muscle group, e.g, masticatory, tongue, and pharyngeal muscles when swallowing or speaking; or ocular muscles for movements of the globe.
