Anatomy of the elbow (MR cross-sectional imaging and 3D medical pictures)
This anatomy module deals with the radioanatomy of the elbow in MRI and 3D reconstructions.
It contains 260 MRI slices, 60 3D reconstruction images, with 155 labelled anatomical structures. This atlas of anatomy is suited especially for radiologists, surgeons, rheumatologists and physicians specialising in musculoskeletal imaging.

The MRI and 3D scanning images of the elbow are derived from a healthy volunteer. The MRI slices were acquired with a thickness of 4 mm, with different weightings and impacts:
T1-weightings and PD-Fat sat: weightings used in clinical routines in musculoskeletal imaging
Axial, sagittal and coronal impacts of the cubital area
The 3D images are derived from a source different to that of the MRI and are "volume rendering" post-processed from a scan of the elbow.
Humerus : Radius , Ulna
Captioned anatomical structures of the cubitale area
155 anatomical structures of the elbow, and adjacent segments of the arm and forearm have been captioned:
General anatomy: shows the main areas such as the cubital fossa, the anterior and posterior elbow regions
Bones: item divided into humerus, radius and ulna specifically selectable.
Elbow joint: comprising the humero-ulnar joint, the humeroradial joint and the proximal radioulnar joint.
Ligaments: principally the radial and ulnar collateral ligaments and the annular ligament of the radius.
Muscles / tendons: displays the muscles and tendons of the ulnar region in two different colours.
Fascia / aponeuroses: on this MRI of the elbow the brachial fascia, antebrachial fascia and bicipital aponeurosis and the intermuscular septa of the arm are present
Compartments: outline of anatomic zones corresponding to the muscular compartments of the forearm and arm
Synovial bursa: MRI anatomy of tendinous bursa of the elbow joint, notably the olecranon bursa
Arteries: anatomical nomenclature of the brachial, ulnar and radial arteries as well as their collaterals
Veins: anatomy of the superficial (cephalic and basilica veins) and deep (brachial, ulnar and radial veins) venous system
Lymph nodes: supratrochlear and ulnar nodes
Nerves: the superficial and deep elbow nerve network is captioned, with a different shade of yellow for each nerve: radial, ulnar, median and cutaneous nerves of the arm and forearm

Language and anatomical terminology
We have used the Terminologia Anatomica to caption for all the anatomical structures, with translations into English, French, Japanese, German, Chinese, Portuguese, Russian, Czech and Spanish.
