Doubt regarding architectural distortion of the right upper lateral quadrant, corresponding to superimpositions with tomosynthesis.
Report
Diagnosis
Doubt regarding architectural distortion of the right upper lateral quadrant, corresponding to superimpositions with tomosynthesis.
History
Systematic screening on hormone replacement treatment.
No personal or family history implying a risk at the breast level.
Findings
Digital mammograms show dense, type III breast tissue with very rare macro-calcifications, with no suspicious site of micro-calcifications.
Doubt regarding the architectural distortion of the right upper lateral quadrant, corresponding to superimpositions with tomosynthesis.
No anomaly on MRI.
ACR 2 bilateral.
Key points
The differential diagnosis between genuine architectural distortion and a simple superimposition of breast structures is one of the strong points of tomosynthesis, particularly in the densest areas of a breast.
