IMAIOS aims to offer content that covers a maximum of anatomical areas and species. We have just released three new modules: an illustration module of the ear, a dental CBCT for e-Anatomy and a dog module with a gastrointestinal endoscopy for vet-Anatomy.

We know that anatomy is a challenging and difficult discipline for students. Our number one concern is therefore to achieve top quality and exhaustive content, both on human and veterinary anatomy. It’s a long process, which we are working on every day! So when new modules are published, we are really excited to share the news.

2 new human anatomy modules

depicts the auricle, external acoustic meatus, tympanic membrane, tympanic cavity, ossicles, auditory tube, the bony labyrinth, the membranous labyrinth or the cochlea and the spiral organ. These anatomical plates include diagrams for medical students, residents and practitioners, especially in ENT.

The dental Cone Beam Computed Tomography has become a reference for clinical use in almost all areas of dentistry, thanks to its technical and dosimetric performance. This is the reason why we think it would be useful to add a dental CBCT to e-Anatomy. This module will be of particular interest to dental specialists (dentists, OMFS, implantologists and endodontists).

The anatomical structures were labeled by Antoine Micheau MD (Radiologist - Montpellier, France), based on Terminologia Anatomica 1.

Gastroduodenoscopy exam of a healthy dog

Gastroscopy and duodenoscopy are the most common procedures performed in small animals by veterinary gastroenterologists.

This labeled video examination of an endoscopy presents the anatomy of the upper gastrointestinal tract of a healthy dog. Exploration of the abdominal esophagus, stomach (body, cardia, fundus, pyloric antrum, angular incisure) and the first part of the duodenum.

The anatomical structures were labeled by Stephan Mahler, DVM, MSc, PhD (Veterinary Anatomist - IMAIOS), according to the Nomina Anatomica Veterinaria (NAV).

Come check out these new modules and let us know if you have any suggestions!
