Around 30 anatomy modules based on imaging examinations (X-rays, CT, MRI...) and anatomical illustrations (osteology, myology, arthrology...) on healthy subjects. This didactic tool simplifies the learning of veterinarian anatomy.

Anatomy, human or animal, is a tough discipline, especially in veterinary medicine where variations between species complicate its learning.
IMAIOS has developed vet-Anatomy, an online atlas that gives easy access to the anatomy. The images are superimposed so that you can scroll through them. The visualization of the anatomical parts helps understand the layout of the various anatomical elements. In addition, the ability to trace the same part of the anatomy throughout a sequence develops the skill needed to read imaging exams correctly.

A didactic tool

The interface features are multiple and allow the visualization of concrete examples that facilitate memorization:

  • Select a filter corresponding to the anatomical structure that disables all others to display only the legends associated with this filter.
  • Transform images by rotating the image 90° to the left or right or mirroring the image horizontally or vertically.
  • Search for an anatomical part in the interface to highlight it
  • Clicking on a label displays a gallery of images related to the structure, but also the definition, the anatomical hierarchy and the different translations of the anatomical part.

Here is a short video tutorial that shows, among other things, the use of comparative osteology between the dog and the horse:

Currently, the most complete species is the dog with 20 modules covering the entire body of the dog with different modalities (radiography, CT, MRI and endoscopy), but also general anatomy, myology, osteology and arthrology diagrams. The other species (cat, horse, bull and cow and mouse) should follow the same path and quickly expand.

In order to adapt to today's usage, which provides access to resources everywhere and on multiple devices, vet- Anatomy is available in web version, but also on iOS and Android stores. And all this is accessible with a single subscription!

How does vet-Anatomy address anatomy learning needs?

Anatomy is a complex discipline, particularly in veterinary medicine where interspecies variation makes its learning even more challenging. This teaching is constantly evolving due to changing educational preferences or regulatory constraints.

Veterinary radiology: learning to extract simple information from a CT scan

In veterinary medicine, access to modern medical imaging techniques such as CT and MRI is now relatively easy. Twenty years ago, CT scans in particular, could only be found in a few universities or specialized clinics, whereas today many more referral centers and some general clinics are also equipped.
