Origin: It arises in the extensor fossa on the lateral epicondyle of the femur and passes through the sulcus extensorius of the tibia.

Insertion: Distal phalanx of digits two through five.

Action: Extension of the digits; flexion of the tarsus.

Nerve: Peroneus.
