Head - Caput radii

The proximal extremity of radius bears the radial head, which is transversely widened to present the radial articular facet (Fovea capitis radii).

In ungulates, the radial head alone articulates with the humerus forming the elbow joint, whereas in carnivores the radius is complemented medially by the ulna.
