Description

The femorotibial joint is the main spheroid part of the stifle joint. It is formed by the thick, rollerlike condyles of the femur articulating with the flattened condyles of the tibia. It is freely connected with the femoropatellar joint, the other part of the stifle joint.

Although these terms are not listed in the VIth NAV, the femorotibial joint may be separated into two compartments, the medial and lateral compartments of femorotibial joint.
