The body (shaft) of the radius is compressed in a craniocaudal direction and slightly curved in its length.
Its cranial surface is smooth. Toward the distal end three grooves for tendons are obvious in ox and horses, from medial to lateral:
Its caudal surface is roughened in dogs and pigs or fused to the ulna in horses.
These surfaces are bounded by the lateral and medial borders.
