Astérion est un point situé sur le côté du crâne vers le dos, plus précisément à l'extrémité postérieure de la suture pariétomastoïdienne. Il constitue la jonction entre la suture lambdoïde, la suture pariétomastoïdienne et la suture occipitomastoïdienne. En ce point, trois os se rejoignent : l'os occipital par l'arrière, et les os pariétal et temporal mastoïdien sur le côté.
