Manubrium sternal - Manubrium sterni

Description

The manubrium of sternum is the most cranial part, located in front of the second intercostal junction. It is poorly developed in domestic animals because the clavicle is rudimentary.

It carries the articular facets for the first ribs.

The cartilage of manubrium prolonge the cranial part of manubrium of sternum, it is absent or small in ruminants.
