胸骨角（ルイ角）は、胸骨柄と胸骨体の結合部によって形成される前方の角であり、男性では約162度である。
胸骨角は皮膚下で触知可能な臨床的指標であり、以下の諸構造を示す指標となる：
- 上縦隔と下縦隔の境界
- 胸管が食道の後方で右側から左側へ走行する部位（大動脈弓レベル）
- 気管分岐部
- 奇静脈系の上大静脈への合流部
- 動脈管索
- 左反回神経が大動脈弓を巻き回るループ
- 大動脈弓の起始部および終止部
