정의
엉덩뼈볼기근면은 엉덩뼈의 바깥면을 의미합니다. 위로는 엉덩뼈능선에 의해 경계가 이루어지며, 아래로는 절구에 의해 제한됩니다. 이 면은 세 개의 뚜렷한 볼기근선으로 특징지어집니다. 앞에서 뒤로 순서대로 나열하면, 아래볼기근선, 앞볼기근선, 뒤볼기근선이 포함됩니다. 이 선들 사이에서 세 개의 중요한 볼기근육, 즉 큰볼기근, 중간볼기근, 작은볼기근이 엉덩뼈볼기근면에서 이는곳을 가집니다.
