정의
삼차신경의 운동뿌리 섬유는 위아래 두 개의 핵에서 기원합니다. 위핵은 중간뇌수도관 회색질의 가쪽부분 전체 길이에 걸쳐 위치하는 세포띠로 구성됩니다. 아래핵 또는 주핵은 다리뇌 위쪽 부분에 위치하며, 등쪽면에 가깝고 마름오목의 가쪽모서리선을 따라 놓여 있습니다. 위핵에서 나온 섬유들은 중간뇌뿌리를 구성하며, 중간뇌를 통해 내려와 다리뇌로 들어가 아래핵에서 나온 섬유들과 합류합니다. 이렇게 형성된 운동뿌리는 다리뇌를 앞쪽으로 통과하여 출현 지점에 이릅니다. 중간뇌뿌리가 운동성인지 감각성인지는 아직 불분명합니다.
