Anterior facet for calcaneus

Facies articularis calcanea anterior

Definition

The inferior aspect of the talus’s head has an anterior facet for calcaneus, establishing a connection with the calcaneum at its corresponding anterior calcaneal facet.

Other facets on the inferior aspect of the talus connect it inferiorly with the calcaneum. These include the middle facet below the talus’s head (or sometimes below the neck) and the posterior facet on the underside of the talus’s body.
