Fibular articular facet

Facies articularis fibularis

Definition

The fibular articular facet is a flat, circular surface located on the postero-inferior aspect of the lateral condyle of the femur. It forms a joint with the upper end of the fibula, creating the tibiofibular joint.

Superomedial to the fibular facet, the posterior surface of the lateral condyle features a distinct bony groove.
