Definition

Sphenoidal yoke is the upper surface of the body of sphenoid bone, located between its two lesser wings. Behind, it is bounded by the anterior margin of chiasmatic sulcus (or the limbus of sphenoid bone), and in front, it connects to the cribriform plate of the ethmoid bone. Also known as the jugum sphenoidale, it forms part of the floor of the anterior cranial fossa. Above it, you’ll find important structures like the olfactory tract and the gyrus rectus.
