Long gyrus of insula
Gyrus longus insulae
Definition
Inside the insula, there are different insular gyri divided by the central sulcus. Behind the central sulcus, there is a long gyrus of insula: with two sub-gyri, anterior and posterior. While, in front of the central sulcus, there are three short gyri (anterior, middle, and posterior).
