Definition
The mental tubercles are notable bony projections found on the anterior surface of the mandible, at the inferolateral aspects of the mental protuberance. These structures contribute to the rounded appearance of the sides of the chin, thus enhancing the structural integrity and the aesthetic appeal of the lower portion of the face.
