Orbital gyri

Gyri orbitales

Definition

There are several orbital gyri on the lower surface of the frontal lobe, formed by the H-shaped orbital sulci in that area. These gyri consist of the anterior, posterior, medial, and lateral orbital gyri. The olfactory sulcus divides the medial orbital gyrus, located on the outer side, from the straight gyrus (also known as the gyrus rectus) on the inner side.
