Paracentral sulcus
Sulcus paracentralis
Definition
The paracentral sulcus refers to the anterior margin of the paracentral lobule. It is a vertical sulcus which separates the paracentral lobule from the medial frontal gyrus.
It’s important not to mix it up the paracentral sulcus with the marginal sulcus or the marginal branch of the cingulate sulcus, which marks the posterior margin of the paracentral lobule.
