Area intercondylaris posterior
Definition
The posterior intercondylar area is the section of the intercondylar area located behind the intercondylar eminence.
From front to back, the posterior intercondylar area acts as the attachment site for: 1) the posterior horn of the lateral meniscus, 2) the posterior horn of the medial meniscus, and 3) the posterior cruciate ligament.
