Submandibular fossa
Fovea submandibularis
Definition
The submandibular fossa is a concave depression located on the inner aspect of the mandible, beneath the mylohyoid line, close to the posterior end of the mandible’s body. It serves as the anatomical site for the submandibular gland to reside.
