Zygomatic process of frontal bone
Processus zygomaticus ossis frontalis
- Related terms: Zygomatic process; Zygomatic process (Frontal bone)
Definition
The zygomatic process of frontal bone is the part of the frontal bone that extends downward from the lateral corner of the upper edge of the eye socket.
The frontal bone forms the whole top edge of the eye socket and stretches down from the lateral side of this upper edge. This inferior extension of the bone joins with the zygomatic bone (it's frontal process) beneath it, which is why it’s called the zygomatic process of frontal bone. Together, these two bones create the lateral margin of the eye socket.
