The periorbita sometimes refers specifically to the layer of tissue surrounding the orbit that consists of periosteum, that is firmly attached to the bone at the entry (continuous with adajcent periosteum) and exit (continuous with the dura mater) of the orbital cavity.

However, it may refer to anything that is around the orbit
