Common hepatic duct - Ductus hepaticus communis

The common hepatic duct results from the junction of the right and left hepatic ducts to the entry of the cystic duct.

The common hepatic duct is absent in carnivores because each sublobe has its own lobar duct which open separately into the cystic duct that immediately becomes the common bile duct.
