vet-Anatomy the interactive atlas of veterinary anatomy
vet-Anatomy is an interactive atlas of veterinary anatomy based on medical imaging. vet-Anaotmy has been created on the same framework than the popular award-wining e-Anatomy, but dedicated to animals, under the direction of Dr. Susanne AEB Boroffka, dipl. ECVDI, PhD.
The lumbar vertebrae are different from thoracic vertebrae:
longer size than thoracic vertebrae
more uniform shape to their bodies
no costal facet
shorter spinous process that is craniodorsally oriented
long and flattened transverse processes sometimes termed costal processes
flat articular surfaces on their cranial and caudal extremities
