Dorsal sesamoid bone - Ossa sesamoidea dorsalia

Description

The dorsal sesamoid bones, in carnivores, are small bony nodules located in the dorsal parts extensor tendons of the metatarsophalangeal joints. They are sometimes replaced by cartilage.
