Définition
La troisième poulie annulaire (A3) est un court bandeau fibreux situé au niveau de l'articulation interphalangienne proximale (IPP). Elle s'attache à la plaque palmaire de l'articulation IPP et fait partie de la gaine fibreuse fléchisseure qui enveloppe les tendons du muscle fléchisseur superficiel des doigts (FDS) et du muscle fléchisseur profond des doigts (FDP).
La poulie A3 maintient l'alignement des tendons fléchisseurs lors de leur passage sur l'articulation interphalangienne proximale, prévenant ainsi l'effet d'arc et contribuant à assurer une flexion des doigts fluide et coordonnée.
