A segunda polia anular (A2) é uma forte faixa fibrosa que percorre a falange proximal de cada dedo. Ela se estende da base até aproximadamente a porção média da falange proximal e forma parte do estrato fibroso flexor que envolve os tendões do músculo flexor superficial dos dedos (FDS) e do músculo flexor profundo dos dedos (FDP).

A polia A2 é a maior e mais importante de todas as polias. Ela mantém os tendões flexores próximos ao osso, impede que se arqueiem durante a flexão e permite movimentos digitais suaves e eficientes, além de força de preensão.
