Distal digital crease of digits of hand

The distal digital crease (also referred to as the distal interphalangeal crease) is the most distal flexion crease on the volar (palmar) surface of the fingers (index through little finger). It is the skin fold that forms over the region of the distal interphalangeal (DIP) joint and corresponds to the flexion point of that joint. On the thumb, which lacks a DIP joint, the single interphalangeal crease serves an analogous role.
