The subtendinous bursa of the trapezius muscle (scapulotrapezial bursa), is a synoviallined sac located between the deep surface of the trapezius muscle (specifically its tendinous attachment) and the superomedial angle of the scapula.

Its function is to reduce friction between the trapezius tendon and the underlying bone during scapular motion.
