Lobus temporalis
Definition
The temporal lobe is the inferolateral region of the cerebral hemisphere, corresponding to the cortex located on the lateral and basal surfaces of the hemisphere. It is primarily involved in the processing of auditory information, but also plays a role in certain memory functions and sensory integration.
In domestic animals, the terminology of the cerebral lobes has more limited functional relevance compared with humans.
