前頭弁蓋
Operculum frontale
定義
前頭弁蓋は、外側溝の前水平枝と前上行枝の間に位置する皮質の特定の領域である。下前頭回の一部をなし、外側溝の上唇を形成して島皮質の上方に張り出している。
なお、前水平枝の下方に位置する眼窩弁蓋と呼ばれる別の皮質弁蓋が存在する。これを前頭弁蓋の一部と見なす立場もあり、眼窩弁蓋もまた下前頭回に属する。眼窩弁蓋および前頭弁蓋はいずれも、ブローカ運動性言語野と関連している。
