Always striving to improve the user experience, we've gone to great lengths to make the dark mode available across our entire site. This feature has been frequently requested and is now available on all platforms (web, Android and iOS)!
What is the dark mode?
It's a choice of color (or theme) applied to web icons, text and interfaces displayed on a dark background. This technology is available on computers, smartphones and tablets.
This trend has become increasingly popular in recent years. The history of dark mode is strongly linked to computing: yes, the first computers used monochrome CRT monitors that displayed green text on a black screen.
What are the advantages of a dark theme?
- Greater eye comfort
In the digital age, eyestrain affects professionals who need their screens as much as the general public.
Many users have adopted it. Under certain lighting conditions, this choice of color is useful for reducing visual fatigue and easing eye strain.
A dark background for the UI (user interface) optimizes visual ergonomics by offering the right balance between surface brightness and surrounding lighting conditions.
This mode produces less blue light than the classic one.
- Reduced energy consumption
Negative mode is the best way to reduce the digital device's carbon footprint. The use of dark mode implies the use of a large number of energy-saving black pixels. As a result, the concerned device will consume less energy. However, this only applies to OLED screens; LCD screens are not impacted.
How do I activate dark mode?
To activate this feature, simply click on the switch at the top of the page, which will toggle between light and dark modes, depending on your preferences.
We are aware that many of you are in front of a screen in dark reading rooms. We hope therefore, that this new feature will bring you greater comfort when using our products.
You always have a choice
If your browser is set to the dark theme by default, it will be active as soon as you use the website. Your choice of dark or light remains active when you change pages. Your preferences will be stored in a cookie (if you've accepted them) and the website will remain dark for your next sessions.
This feature is in addition to the customization options already available for our products, and is aimed at improving your experience.
We made sure that the contrasts were balanced and that the background wasn't too dark either.
