視床前核群

定義
視床の前核群は、視床前上部に明瞭な隆起を形成する。
前核群は、海馬から神経入力を受ける。その経路は、脳弓を介した直接経路と、脳弓が乳頭体にシナプスを形成する間接経路（乳頭体視床路）の2つがある。したがって、前核群の重要な機能の一つは記憶形成に関与することである。
視床の前核群はまた、視床下部、前帯状回（パペッツ辺縁回路）、および眼窩内側前頭前野との相互連絡を有する。帯状回および前頭前野との連絡を通じて、情動的トーンおよび遂行機能を制御する。
