정의
셋째뒤통수신경은 C3 척수신경 뒤가지의 안쪽가지입니다. 아래뒤통수와 위목부위 두피에 감각신경분포를 제공하며, 머리반가시근에 운동신경분포를 제공합니다.
셋째뒤통수신경은 C2와 C3 척추 사이에서 나와 위쪽으로 올라가며 머리반가시근과 머리널판근을 관통합니다. 이후 계속 위쪽으로 진행하여 등세모근을 관통한 뒤 피하로 이어집니다. 주행 경로에서 포착이 일어날 수 있는 지점으로는 C2-C3 척추사이공간과 머리반가시근, 머리널판근, 등세모근을 관통하는 지점들이 있습니다.
셋째뒤통수신경은 큰뒤통수신경과 밀접한 관련이 있으며, 큰뒤통수신경은 C2 척수신경 뒤가지의 안쪽가지입니다. 두 신경 모두 두피의 감각신경분포에 기여하며, 뒤통수신경통에 관여할 수 있습니다. 이들의 해부학적 경로를 이해하는 것은 신경차단술 및 수술적 중재를 포함한 관련 통증 상태의 진단과 치료에 필수적입니다.
