Definición
La comisura gris posterior es un componente del área espinal X (también conocida como la sustancia intermedia central). Se localiza posterior al canal central de la médula espinal. Su función es interconectar los cuernos dorsales de la sustancia gris en los lados derecho e izquierdo de la médula espinal.
Junto con la comisura gris anterior, la comisura gris posterior forma la sustancia intermedia central (área espinal X). Lateralmente, esta región se continúa con la sustancia intermedia lateral de la médula espinal.
