Definizione
I nuclei parasimpatici sacrali consistono in un gruppo di corpi cellulari neuronali situati nella sostanza intermedia laterale dei segmenti S2, S3 e S4 del midollo spinale. Questi corpi cellulari neuronali sono l'origine delle fibre motorie autonome parasimpatiche pregangliari che innervano l'intestino posteriore e gli organi pelvici. A differenza della regione toracolombare del midollo spinale, i nuclei parasimpatici sacrali non formano un distinto corno laterale nella regione sacrale.
